For an off-site conference room to impress clients or a unique location to entertain two hundred, the Saldechin Tearoom is an impactful venue.

Saldechin has two venue hire options available to persons and organisations. They are the Main Tearoom and the Mezzanine Function Room.


The Saldechin Tearoom

The Saldechin Main Tearoom is a magificent space located at 21 King William Street in the Adelaide CDB. It is the original grand foyer of the Commercial Bank of Australia constructed 1933. Every effort has been made to maintain the character aspect of this amazing space. Everything from the original brass doors at the entrance of the tearroom to the six metre marble walls reeks of old world grandeur.

The Saldechin main Tearoom is available for hire six nights a week, from Saturday through Thursday from 6pm. The tea room comfortably seats up to 120 guests for dinner and presentations.  In a cocktail environment, we can comfortably cater to as many as 250 standing guests.

Some creative previous uses of the Saldechin Main Tearoom include the introduction live bands, DJ's, the hosting of Quiz Nights, wine and beer tastings, wedding receptions, corporate awards ceremonies and birthday celebrations. 

We have catering packages to suite every event and budget. Options include boutique wines and beers, top shelf open bars, three course meals or unlimited yum cha. We can even provide you with entertainment such as live jazz or a DJ.

The Mezzanine Level Function Room

The Saldechin conference and function room is located on the mezzanine floor overlooking the main tea room. It has the same style and luxurious feel of the tea room only more intimate. The function room holds up to thirty seated and as many as sixty standing. The room is perfect for morning teas, working lunches and off site board meetings. We have all the amenities free of charge such as wireless broadband, digital projection and sound. The room is available for hire seven days a week during our regular trading hours.

Monday  ........................7:30am-5:30pm
Tuesday to Friday ......7:30am-10:00pm
Saturday ......................12:00pm-10:00pm
Sunday .........................12:00pm-5:00pm

Please note that function room hire outside regular trading hours are subject to additional fees.

- Half Day Hire (4 hrs, Monday–Friday, 8am-12pm or 1pm-5pm) $295
- Session Hire (2 hrs every day before 5pm) $150
- Evening Hire (4 hrs, Tuesday – Saturday, 6pm-10pm) $295
